This and That

Happy Saturday! I thought I would check in today (its been a while, I know) and give you a little hodgepodge of a post. I’ve had lots of good stuff going on lately … aside from the rainy/cold Florida weather of course.

1. First of all let me say that its SO NICE to be home for an extended period of time. After getting home from California earlier in the month we have been settling back in to our routine and focusing on returning to some healthy habits. And I love it! My “nest” is my sanctuary :-)

2. January has been busy – but with all good things. Here’s a shot of my planner for January. Can you believe the month is almost over and we are headed towards Valentines Day already!

If you can see some of the detail here you can see that I managed to get in some weight training along with some awesome yoga. If you can make out the “Y’s” those are yoga days. Also, this month I got to see TWO master teachers here in town. Doug Swenson and Bryan Kest. Both of these guys I have been lucky enough to see before and both are TOTALLY worth seeing again. Additionally, I started up another 200+hour teacher training program that I am super excited about. My first Teacher Training was awesome and I loved every single minute of it – my dear friend and teacher, Mary Kay Berg ( provided knowledge, love and inspiration beyond my expectations. And now I am starting another 8 month program with Tymi Howard from Guruv Yoga ( and I know this program will enhance my already strong foundation tremendously. I love Tymi and respect her practice and her loving and dedicated spirit so much.

Can you spot me in the photo below…?

and take a look at Bryan Kest – yup -he’s a hottie!

3. I got these neat orchids  for my guest bathroom. They are air plants so they do quite well in the moist environment of the bathroom. This little bath needed some “life” – so I think my 2 orchids are perfect.

PLease pray I can keep them alive!

4. Getting ready for Valentines Day!

Speaking of Valentines Day – here is a fun little FREE Printable for you. Some adorable coupons you can use as gift ideas for those special people you want to celebrate on Valentines Day. Fill them out for a free hug/trip to the movies/special date night out (or in:-)), etc – get creative and add them to another small gift like a chocolate bar/flowers/balloons. They’re just a little something fun to help you celebrate and share the love. Hope you enjoy them!

Oh, and remember if you have not gotten your 2014 Keeping it Together Planner yet they are now on sale for $50.00. Since January is already “in the books” as they say we reduced the price by 10%.

Keeping it Together – A Girl’s Guide to Living Life to the Fullest!

Okay – so we are closing out the month of January and its time to reassess….

??? Are you sticking to any New Years Resolutions you set?

??? How about your “” – if you picked one – how’s that going?

??? Maybe you bought a calendar and/or a journal but now that you’ve used it for a month you find it lacking in some important way?

Depending on your answers above maybe you want to reconsider purchasing a 2014 Keeping it Together Daily Planner? Happy Hukkster

Happy Friday My Loves! This has been a really busy week for me – and I’ve got a full lid today as well. So I’ll be really happy when tomorrow comes and I’m off to Tallahassee to see my Seminoles play. College Football saturdays are the best – no matter who you cheer for!

I’ve been meaning to post about the app – Hukkster. Anybody out there using it? Its a coupon/money saving site where you can sign up for alerts when the items you identify go on sale. There’s a computer based application you can register for as well as iPad and iPhone versions you can download for free from the iTunes App store. I’ve used apps like this in the past but they never seem to work correctly; meaning I sign up and then tag/flag/log items I want to be alerted to when they go on sale but then I never hear anything! I guess that might mean the items I covet never go on sale (figures!) or that I’ve done something wrong or the tracking and notification doesn’t work 100% of the time. Hukkster, however, seems to be getting good press and reviews. I’ve seen it mentioned in several places this year so I thought I might give it a try. Lord knows with the all the gifts I’m buying some sale price alerts would make my day!

And to totally switch gears – here’s something I read this week and loved! Its the reverse of Hukkster if you will… From Dave Romanelli who I mentioned on the blog before. Love him! Paying with attention – its a beautiful idea really. Time and attention are precious commodities for sure. If we truly want to give someone on our list a special gift from the heart – maybe all we have to do is “gift” them with our love and attention.

You can go to to soak up more of this type of goodness.

Here’s a thought to consider this Holiday Season…

…what if instead of paying with credit card or cash… you started paying with attention?

Anyone can buy you dinner, but how rare are the people in your life who ask how are you really doing, who hug you with their whole heart, who give you the gift of their whole presence?

To solve our problems, to heal our bodies, to bring peace to our lives and families…more than than anything else, we need each other.

Today, can you take 10 seconds to give the gift of attention?

I have it all qeued up for you.  All you have to do is hit SEND.

And lastly- check out these neat portion controlled baggies I found at Wal-Mart! There are fantastic for measuring out snacks – especially things like nuts and trail mix which are frankly addictive and (although they can be very healthy) high in calories. It was very exciting to find this little gem at Wal-Mart. Isn’t everyone uber-excited about baggies with serving size measurements on the outside? I’m such an easy girl to please :-) yeah right!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone. And remember the new 2014 edition of the “Keeping it Together Planner – A Girl’s Guide to Living Life to the Fullest” is on sale now. You can head right on over to my website to check out some great photos and make your purchase.
